Goa - Day1,2,3

Ok ppl... Yet another blogger.
I am not good in story telling.. but I shall try..
Please forgive me incase any errors in my English.

Ok here we go(a) !!.
Get together- Its really sweet to hear. Yes we had lotsa get togethers. Mostly in banglore. People who got scattered widely in different parts of india used to come to this place and have a 3 days of chilling time with friends. This time we planned it for a place which can be at the center point of india so that everyone can move their ass out and travel to reach. Several places came into mind as flashing images.. kulu manali, shimla, north east, himalyas..etc. Finally we ended up zeroing Goa. Since then we faced several problems till the D-day. Yeah..swine flu scare followed by intermittent rainfalls. Some booked the tickets already and they were so enthusiastic to head for the trip. And it started after many mail exchanges and conf calls . Thanks to sabsebolo.com :)

The Goa vacation plan is from Sep 27 - Oct 4. One whole week. Sounding crazy.. Isn't it?. For my friend bala it started on sep 25th night itself. He started to banglore riding his Thunderbird and from there he joined with Stalin and both them had a nice adventurous bike trip all the way to goa. Man ! these guys are insane !! . I landed in Goa on Sep 27th morning. Madgoan station. It was pricking hot and yeah...there were hot foreigners too :P. I was there in the station , getting my phone charged and waiting for delhi wallas - Cecil and Arun. Their flight supposed to be arriving at 2 o clock. Meanwhile chennai members reached banglore and started boozing session already. They had to reach Goa on tuesday evening accompanied by banglore guys. Goa is just 10 hrs from bombay. So i left on 26 th night itself....having in mind not to waste anymore hols.

So i waited till 3 'o clock. Those delhi wallas turned up . I bought a Goa map and was chking out the routes to all the places to be never missed at all. Our plan was to hire 2 bikes and cross the goa border and reach Jog falls monday morning. But to our dismay, we didn get any bike which can cross goa border. We roamed for one hour to get bikes. Our trip starts here it self. We went to benaulim beach , Colva beach , chking for bikes. Finally, with great dilemma , we ended up taking a car ( ZEN ESTILO ) and heading towards Palolem. We started in the late evening..
It was a 1:30 hrs car ride to reach palolem. Thanks to Cecil, who drove the car throughout.
As soon as we reached Palolem, we booked a room for accommodation and headed towards the beach. Palaolem is one of the beautiful beaches in Goa...yeah to the saying, it got lotsa foreigners too. They really outnumbered Indian tourists. We sat in a shack.. had our dinner and then sat along the beach for sometime and then left for the room.

Day 2:

The next day we went to the beach side for breakfast, then we completely dropped the plan of going to karnataka. We had a walk along the beach.Add ImageSo we headed towards a waterfall called DUDHSAGAR. I will say that South Goa seriously suck in directions. No sign board anywhere.. Getting routes from the localites and we moved on. Goan ppl are really warm and they helped us a lot. We reached a spot in the afternoon, where they told only bikes can use the mountain roads from there on. And moreover..no individual biking. So we 3 took 3 bikes with pilots in each. The ride was really scary. It took 1 hour to reach the base of the falls. Throughout the ride , there was no specific road all. We were riding on tyre sized footpath at the sides of the konkan railway track. Maximum speed is 10 Kmph. Only on first gear :P . Throughout the ride , the pilot was telling stories. And he also warned that if it starts raining ,the ride will become a mess and difficult to return. It was like getting into jurassic park forests. I was checking out for some wildlife or some ghosts on the way :). I saw a small watersnake going along a stream. Couldn find anything more.

Cecil asked his pilot reg the wildlife seen in the forest. He told wild animals like kangaroo, jackal comes here. Cecil was like WTF !!! . lolz. Then after reaching the base..we went by walk some 15 more mins..crossing high speed water streams holding on to rocks and catching hands to hands. The pilots were really cool and they described neatly about the waterfalls. When we reached the falls... OMG.. it was damn sexy and adrenalin rush too. It is listed as one of the beautiful waterfalls in the world, the one and only entry from India. As per the name, the water was so white and flowing down like milk. We took some dip in the waters and clicked some photographs for remembrance. The place where we took bath is more than 30 feet deep. The pilot told that they even took a toppled boogie from it once. People visiting by train will get a good view of it...So please visit this water falls. Jog might be mighty..but this one is beautiful :)

It was around 4 , we started to return. And it happened , Yea..it started raining... heavily..damn heavily. And its a forest , suddenly turned black, as if someone had switched off lights. It was raining heavily.. got completely drenched in rains..the pilot warned us to watch out for leeches at the sides. It was the scariest trip i ever had in my life. Literally there was no road, just a bike tyre mark and we have to travel on it , in that very heavy downpour. I took my spectacles off and started enjoying rain later. Nice to get completely drenched and feeling the rain water throughout the body. Its really impossible to get this even in the bathroom :). After an hour ride, we reached the starting point. We were still alive. Yippeee.. All our clothes were wet . Arun was wearing a towel only !! hahaha. So hilarious to see a person sitting next to the driver's seat in towel. It was like 'HANGOVER' effect !!

We headed towards Panaji, which is the central Goa. We stopped the car here and there for getting some junk food /cigar and for taking some photos also. It was really a nice trip , listening to all music ..ranging from rock, psychedelic, pop, hindi, tamil, old tamil also.. and singing some arbit songs.. :). This is where the goa theme song originated. Suryavamsam BGM. U can find this in one of the video in the picassa albums we posted. Cecil gets rejuvenated whenever he listens to 'Back in Black'. He asks it for one more time always.. But still i like to thank him for me being alive :) . hahahah. We reached Panaji.. It started raining. Booked a hotel room for acco and then went out for food. We went to Miramar beach for a walk and then to room and had a chat for some time and dozed off.

Day3:

The next day started at 10 o clock. Checked out the rooms and then moved towards Dona Paula beach. This beach has a yard like structure in the waters like the one comes in kaaka kaaka movie when surya accepts jo's proposal. So lovely for lovers to hang out. Sit on the stone benches for hours and chat sitting on the sea front. I just had a deep deep sigh inside :). And just imagined that i am with my lady love at that place. hahha. So sight seeing went for another 20 mins. Did some hat purchases, cowboy hat .. !! Then we went to colva beach to hand over the car and hire two bikes for next 5 days. Hired 2 pulsor 150 . Had proper konkan style sea food in colva beach. Really great food. There we saw a tiff between the hotel owner and some AP group!!. Arggghhh not again !! :) . The fight ended up in a bloodshed. We had nice food inspite of all this. I took the camera and went for clicking some postcard pics on the beach. We left for calangute where we had booked our resort for the next 5 days. It was a bike ride in rains from colva to calangute . Took nearly 1:30 hrs. But north goa is damn good in direction boards. The routes were great and its like neatly done for biking. Finally we reached our resort , Hired two more bikes ,Avenger and a Yamaha FZ , checked in the rooms and then left for baga beach for food !

Welcome to Baga !! The happening beaches of Goa. Calangute and baga always attract huge no of ppl making it lively all the time. There were limited no of shacks only compared to the last time i went. I love hanging out at baga beach. talking to the sea, eating some food and just talking to the sea. Wow... talking to the sea is really sweet . Please try it. Oh yeah.. this trip is mainly to ease out the office pressure, come out of the material world, go completely out of contact, out of reach like a gypsy. No computers, No internet..no deadlines...just to enjoy the innerself. I felt really happy to be with my friends again after 2 years. It was like getting back to Pearl Hostel of NIT Trichy. We reached baga beach, sat on the candle light sea face set up, on cane chairs and was enjoying looking at the crowd and the waves. Meanwhile all the people from banglore reached madgaon, hired a cab and reached the resort. They joined us for the dinner. It started raining and yeah the boozing session started. We got the 2 B's out of 3 one should get in Goa. Bikes and Booze ... and the other one.. will tell ya later. :P
